About David
David is a Telford lad and was born in Oakengates the year England last won the world cup. He is married to Lesley, a Dawley lass and they have always lived in Telford.
David is a graduate of the old Wolverhampton Polytechnic with a BA Hons in Humanities and is a former Local Government Office working in housing and urban regeneration.
David was a Town Councillor in Oakengates 1989-2000 and a Wrekin District Councillor from 1989-1997.
Since being elected Member of Parliament for Telford in June 2001 David has been a member of the Administration Select Committee and Environmental Audit Select Committee. He is a Government Whip.
He is a member of the Chartered Institution of Housing, is active in the Credit Union movement and a former instructor in the Boy's Brigade locally.
His interests include cricket, football and housing.
